“Taste of Chesapeake” features local restaurant fare at Homearama

Chesapeake restaurants will be tempting taste buds at “Taste of Chesapeake” during Tidewater Builders Association’s Homearama in Culpepper Landing from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 25.

Visitors will be able to visit eight fully furnished and landscaped showcase homes while also sampling cuisine from some of Chesapeake’s finest restaurants and voting for their favorite.

Hampton Roads Magazine will again sponsor this regular Homearama tradition. This time, six nearby eateries will be offering up samples for Homearama guests while another will demonstrate how to make happy hour cocktails.

Restaurants participating include:

  • Now You’re Cooking: Serving grilled peach and blueberry salad with peach vinaigrette and pink cotton candy lemonade
  • Cotton Southern Bistro: Serving Cajun pasta
  • Terebinth Patisserie & Bistro: Serving lemon honey chicken salad on parmesan tuiles with fresh fruit crosini
  • The Cutting Edge Café: Serving watermelon cubes and Moroccan tomato soup
  • Passion The Restaurant: Serving slow-braised pork tenderloin and stuffing
  • Carolina Cupcakery – Serving gourmet mini cupcakes in patriotic flavors

Visitors will vote for their favorite fare to determine who will win the coveted People’s Choice Award. A contingent of local food critics, led by Hampton Roads Magazine’s Food Editor Patrick Evans-Hylton, will determine who wins the Critics’ Choice Award.

Chef Chris Hill of The Bachelor Kitchen also will be hosting Happy Hour cocktail demonstrations, as well as serve up hors d’oeuvres in the Hampton Roads Magazine House (House 2) from 6-8 p.m. that evening.
