HGTV home decorating personalities bring their brand of "real decorating for real people" to the Mid-Atlantic Home & Flower Show
Homeowners looking to redecorate their living areas in a style that reflects their own personal tastes and needs will get all the help and advice they'll need from Matt Fox and Shari Hiller, stars of the HGTV series "Room by Room," at the Mid-Atlantic Home & Flower Show presented by Certified Angus Beef.
Matt & Shari will teach audiences "The ABC's of Decorating" at 1 and 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15 and 16; and at noon and 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 17 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
In an entertaining and interactive presentation, this popular decorating duo will reveal their "must-haves" for almost any decorating do-it-yourselfer and they will explain the tools needed to turn your decorating dreams into reality. Show-goers will also have the opportunity to get the answers to their decorating dilemmas and to personally meet Matt & Shari.
This talented team met in 1991 when they were both employed by Dutch Boy Paints where Matt was a salesman and Shari developed color systems. The two hit it off immediately and realized that Shari's experience in interior design and Matt's knowledge as a theater major coupled with both of their years working for the paint company gave them the ideal foundation to launch a home decorating program.
With the financial backing of their employers, Matt & Shari shot a nine-minute pilot of the two redecorating a room in the home of Shari's brother. The pilot grew into a live one-hour call-in show that Matt & Shari did for one season. A year later, knowing that they needed to take the show to the next level, they submitted the original pilot to the founder of HGTV and "Room by Room" made it's national debut in 1994.
Known for their realistic and down-to-earth approach, Matt & Shari present step-by-step instructions on their show on how to redecorate easily with the emphasis on completely do-able, creative ideas that keep costs down. "Room by Room" was the first show ever to air on HGTV in 1994 and it remains the longest-running room makeover program on national television.
In addition to their successful television show, Matt & Shari have produced three HGTV home videos; "Great Ideas from Room by Room," "Room by Room for the Holidays" and "Room by Room Kitchen Ideas." Their syndicated column, Matt & Shari at Home, appears in over 120 newspapers across the country and they've authored two best-selling books, Real Decorating for Real People and Great Weekend Projects.
